Event Description:
The panel will explore investment valuation risk and return profiles in the alternative energy sector - specifically ethanol, biodiesel, energy efficiency and optimization, and carbon credits. The panel will present views from venture capital as well as the public and private equity markets.

Thomas A. Sidley, Senior Managing Director, Aequitas Capital Management

Tom Sidley has an extensive 20-year background in finance, banking and asset securitization. Within Aequitas, Mr. Sidley specializes in structured capital finance, turnaround assistance, financial advisory services, and mergers and acquisitions. He has structured more than $250 million in transactions. Mr. Sidley is also the Senior Managing Director of the Aequitas Capital Management Energy Fund I which controls two electrical services companies. One of these companies specializes in providing electrical construction and services to the renewable energy industry - primarily wind farm and solar projects. Through the ownership of these companies, Mr. Sidley is well versed in the engineering, procurement and construction risks of renewable energy projects.
Mr. Sidley has a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Portland State University and an MBA with High Honors in Finance from Boston University.

Headwaters Inc. has leading positions in coal-based synthetic fuels and technology markets, Headwaters operating companies discover and capitalize on opportunities for making more efficient use of our world's natural resources, especially fossil fuels. Mr. Krutzfeldt holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and received a B.S. in Applied Economics from Texas Tech University. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Alternative Energy Resources Committee. Mr. Krutzfeldt is a member of the Board of the Washington Water Trust, a Seattle-based non-profit established to restore stream flow via market water rights purchases. His family owns and operates a 3rd generation beef cattle agribusiness in Montana.

Ms. Becky Klein, Managing Director, American Energy Ventures (AEV), Austin, Texas
American Energy Ventures (AEV) is a startup venture capital fund focused on alternative energy technology applications requiring low-capitalization and a short commercialization horizon. AEV's model portfolio will also focus on energy efficiency technologies as well as power generation solutions that will increase plant longevity and lower marginal costs.
Ms. Klein was Former Chairman of the Texas Public Utility Commission and assisted in the implementation of historic electric deregulation in the State of Texas. Ms. Klein is an Advisory Board Member of New York based advisory firm Saber Partners and she is a frequent speaker on energy securitization transactions. She is also a former Fellow at McDonough Business School of Georgetown University.
