Event Description:
The old 'Trust but Verify was about the accuracy of investment performance results. But that's all changed, due in large part to GIPS and its verifiers. The new 'Trust but Verify is often managed from a marketing standpoint. Accounts are frequently won with creative marketing rather than alpha. Contemporary due diligence unspins the yarn, but is the industry ready for the truth? Level playing fields often hurt many investment managers.

Fiduciaries have come to believe that any target date fund (TDF) will suffice because all TDFs are qualified default investment alternatives (QDIAs), but most TDFs are flawed. Fiduciaries have the duty to know the difference between good and bad TDFs, and the responsibility to choose good ones.
